WKD Attorneys Obtain Defense Verdict in DG Louisiana, LLC Case

Trevor Davies and Michael Ballero obtained a defense verdict following a four-day jury trial in July 2022 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. Plaintiffs sued DG Louisiana, LLC, as a result of an alleged incident back in 2018, allegedly resulting in a fractured L4 vertebra, post-concussive cognitive deficits, numerous injection therapies, an SI Joint Fusion, and recommended 2-level cervical fusion. Plaintiffs asked the jury to award more than $1.6 million in damages. After two hours of deliberations, the jury unanimously determined that DG Louisiana was not liable. (See link to verdict)

During the week of trial, the team of Trevor Davies, Michael Ballero, and Shannon Harrison also obtained rulings granting Motions for Summary Judgment pending in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana (link to judgment) and the 24th JDC for Jefferson Parish (link to judgment).
