Christopher Rideaux v. GPS Hospitality Partners IV, LLC

Docket No. 73189, Peter Wanek secured summary judgment in favor of a retail client in a case pending in the 40th Judicial District Court for the Parish of St. John the Baptist. In that case, the plaintiff claimed that he was injured when he tripped and fell over a condition at the defendant’s premises. The Court granted summary judgment in favor of the defendant merchant, reasoning that the alleged condition did not create an unreasonable risk of harm as it was open and obvious.
