Shannell Franklin v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.
Peter Wanek secured summary judgment in favor of a retail client in a case pending in the 24th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Jefferson. In that case, the plaintiff claimed that she was injured at a retail establishment when she slipped and fell on a substance on the ground. The Court granted summary judgment in favor of the defendant merchant, reasoning that the plaintiff failed to produce evidence that the defendant created the condition or had actual or constructive notice of the condition’s presence.
