WKD Attorneys Obtain Defense Verdict in Hobby Lobby Case

Congratulations to WKD Attorneys Kathryn Trew and Peter Wanek for their defense verdict in federal court in Lafayette, Louisiana, on July 9, 2021. The plaintiff, a 69-year-old female, sued Hobby Lobby claiming to have suffered a traumatic brain injury and cognitive deficits allegedly suffered as a result of a fall in November 2017. The plaintiff sought damages of over $825,000 for past and future pain and suffering and for medical expenses. The jury determined Hobby Lobby was not negligent and rendered a defense verdict! This was the second successful defense by jury trial for Kathryn and Peter since courts resumed jury trials in Louisiana in late April 2021.
