Wanda Henderson v. Haza Foods of Louisiana, LLC

Peter Wanek and Lindsay Faulkner secured summary judgment in favor of a retail client in a case pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. In that case, the plaintiff claimed that she slipped and fell at a retail establishment. She further claimed that she underwent a knee surgery as a result of the injuries she sustained in the accident. Federal Judge Sarah Vance granted summary judgment in favor of the defendant merchant. She reasoned that the action was prescribed as it was not timely filed against the defendant merchant and dismissed the case with prejudice. (See link to Opinion)
