Lisa Hill v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.
Peter Wanek and Lindsay Faulkner secured summary judgment in favor of a retail client in a case pending in the 24th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Jefferson. In that case, the plaintiff claimed that she injured herself when a chair in which she was sitting at the retail establishment “broke and collapsed from under her.” The Court granted summary judgment in favor of the defendant merchant, reasoning that the plaintiff failed to produce evidence that there was any defect in the chair or that the defendant had actual or constructive notice of any alleged defect.
