Charles and Erica Jackson v. State Farm Property and Casualty Co.

Peter Wanek secured a defense verdict for their client in the USDC, Western District, before Hon. David Joseph, March 6-9, 2023. Plaintiffs filed suit claiming property damage from Hurricanes Laura and Delta which were unpaid by Defendant, State Farm. Damages included claim that additional damages totaled more than $324,000. Plaintiffs also claimed damages for penalties and attorneys fees under LSA-R.S. 22:1973 and 22:1892. Jury ultimately rendered a defense verdict for State Farm. This is the first jury verdict in favor of a homeowner insurer in Louisiana stemming from the hurricanes in 2020. See link to Jury Verdict.
